How Will I Make Decisions that Impact the City?
If I can answer "yes" to each of the following questions, I think the decision will almost always be the right decision:
- If a measure involves an increase in the citizens' monthly city bill, do all who will be paying more also receive a benefit?
- Have I considered ALL reasonable options and solutions?
- Have I compromised without betraying my moral standards?
- Have I done my homework to ensure that the facts presented are accurate and complete?
What is My Position On "Open Space" in Spanish Fork?
My position is we need it and we will need more of it as we grow.
I would define "open space" as playgrounds, soccer fields, baseball & softball fields, areas surrounding parks where one can walk or jog, etc.
I feel our city has lots of quality open space. In fact, I think one would
be hard pressed to find a city our size with as many ball parks, soccer
fields, playgrounds and picnic/recreation areas. However, we are growing.
It will be important for the city council to plan for providing open space
as they also plan for growth.
